ERIC GARDINER, HEAD INSTRUCTOR
KWBJJ AFFILIATE- RULE 4 BJJ, SOUTH DURHAM, ME

About Eric:

I started training Jiu Jitsu in the spring of 2005 at Simian Martial Arts in Brunswick, Maine after watching my son Andrew grapple. With no background in combat sports, I would never have predicted that BJJ would become such an important part of my life.

The game of physical chess is so addictive that I found myself entrenched in constantly trying to find more time to train. I was very lucky to have my whole family on the mat. I never had to miss family time when training.

At the time when I first started training I was overweight and did not have a lot of ambition to change my lifestyle. BJJ changed that. What I ate, when I ate, and what I did with my spare time became thought out. My health became important to me. After a few years I started to help teach the kids program; eventually taking over the program and started teaching adults. I have been fortunate to have made some super relationships through the gentle art and could now not imagine my life without Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
